Maria Lucinda Soares, 87, passed peacefully on April 1st at home. She was the wife of Luis Soares. They have been married for 63 years.
Born in the Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel Resends and Ursella Ledo.
She arrived with her family in the United States in 1977 and made RI her home ever since.
Maria is survived by eleven children, Luis Soares, his wife Rose, Laudalino Soares, Joe Soares, his wife Adelia, Leonardo Soares, Gorette Mello, her husband Joe, Maria Do Ceu Alves, her husband Paul, Paul Soares, his wife Ana, Grace Costa, her husband Armindo, Victor Soares, his wife Lauren, Ana Soares, Maria Waite, her husband Kim, four sisters, Estrela Paulino, Angelina Travassos, Treza Estrela and Maria dos Anjos, twenty two grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 4th from 8:30am until 10:15am followed by a Mass of Christion Burial in St. Mary Church, Pine St., Pawtucket at 11am. Entombment will follow in Highland Memorial Park in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave. www.thekeefefuneralhome.com
